Love this place. Best coffee in Matakana Also lovely organic teas with lots of refills included. So nice to relax and read a book before purchasing. Gifts for that special friend or just cuddle Luna

Cozy spot, little snacks are on point with really good coffee Not everything was to our taste but you can tell that it's all intentionally made and can be appreciated regardless of our particular palette. The casual and laid back atmosphere gives it a sort of "living room" ambience.

Had the best coffee I’ve had in a long time from Zen Den. Popped in on a whim to escape the madness that was Matakana on a Christmas weekend and am so glad we did. The place was such a calm escape from the bustle of the markets. Great selection of books and little trinkets. The books, they have a selection you can read from before deciding to purchase anything which was so neat! They also have a great plant collection (which was the only thing I got photos of!). The service was lovely, the girls even washed our reusable coffee cups for us as we hadn’t had a chance to on our travels. Could have stayed here for ages but we needed to get back on the road. Would love to come back when I’m next in the area.

We tried The mushroom-flavored maca latte and berry latte. Its rich and earthy notes blend seamlessly with the robust coffee, and combination of tea tastes both intriguing and satisfying. The perfect balance of creamy coffee and vibrant berry flavors makes it a refreshing treat. The calm and cosy space was a perfect place for the whole family to hang out. This place is calm and relaxing atmosphere. Soft lighting, cozy seating, and gentle background music create an inviting space perfect for unwinding. Even kids are clam and started reading. The staff at Zen Den are incredibly friendly and attentive. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always ready with a smile and a helpful recommendation. Highly recommended for those seeking a unique coffee experience in a peaceful place.

It was first time coming here, and it was an extremely pleasant experience. Special thanks to Nadia for such a great customer service, so welcoming and also for recommending us to try Cacao. Such a positive vibes in that shop, range of books and plants literally draw my attention too. Me and partner doesn’t wanted to leave that place! Hahah. I would definitely come back when “Nadia” will be there and would highly recommend this GEM to anyone.

For someone who doesn't drink coffee, this place was a great find. They heaps of alternative drinks as well like hot cacao and teas. It's a beautiful setting where you can relax, warm up and unwind. The chicken broth and sweet slices were also delicious.

I recently discovered Zen Den in Matakana, and it truly is a hidden gem! This magical cafe, offers a serene space to unwind and just be. The ambiance is so calm and relaxing! The staff are beautiful and incredibly friendly, making the experience even more delightful. The cacao drink is absolutely divine, and they have a great selection of healthy foods and drinks on the menu. One of the special features I love is that they have books on the shelves which you can pick up and read in the cafe or outside in the garden. On the way into matakana take a right turn to find the magical spot. Once you find it, you’ll be glad you did! This place is perfect for a peaceful escape or casual hangout with friends. Highly recommended!
